Rick French, Owner/Operator

I grew up in the mountains of Montana with a longing to see the wild country of Alaska.

In 1995, when I was 21-years-old, I loaded everything I owned into the back seat of a car, pointed it North, and started driving. I was basically broke, had no job lined up, didn't know anyone who lived in Alaska, and didn't know where I was going to live. All I knew is that you could hunt sheep every year in Alaska, so that was the place for me!

I acquired my Assistant guide license in 1999 and started working for one of the best outfitters in the Alaskan guide industry. In 2005 I acquired my Registered guide license. 2006 was the first year in business for myself Alaska Alpine Outfitters.

My goal is to take a limited number of people hunting each year. Being prepared and paying close attention to detail, in my opinion, are the ingredients for a quality hunting experience. Although we have a lot of fun and even though your hunt is somewhat of a vacation; make no mistake about it, we hunt hard for the entire duration of your scheduled time in the field.

Having a never-say-die attitude I can assure you we will hunt longer, harder, and smarter then the "average Joe".
